Featured 1Children of all ages are invited to spend a winter's evening sharing stories, creating crafts and learning about nature with Kids Night Out, a Ranger-led series of children's programs held inside the Historic Huffaker Schoolhouse on the on the second Friday of the month from December through April. (see announcement below)
Featured 2Christmas Tree Recycling begins the day after Christmas (Friday, December 26) at Bartley Ranch and Rancho San Rafael Regional Parks. Hours are 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily through Sunday, January 11, 2009. Tree recycling is done in partnership with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful to help preserve landfill space, prevent illegal dumping and provide a Green source of mulch park projects. A $3-per-tree donation is requested.

Explore the heart of Nevada’s heritage through a monthly series of programs featuring video documentaries, photographic slide shows and informative guest speakers. Exploring Nevada programs are presented at the Wilbur D. May Museum at 2:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of every month from January through May.
